INFO FOR FOREINGERS :)
Vesterbro is famous for the hip night/cafe life, people come here from other parts of Copenhagen, because Vesterbro offers a multitude of experiences.
This area of Copenhagen is well sought after, as it is centrally located, buzzing with life.
Even now in the pandemic. I definitely have not felt a complete lock down or the streets empty even when it was. Now it feels a lot like its back to normal except the night life.
Many sunny places where 80-100 people gather in the sun. some are more correct about the distancing than others, like in supermarkets and most shops basicly, ;)
So 5 min from here, by ENGHAVE METRO STATION, there are many benches, sometimes drumming circles, hare krishna monks dancing, at least 5 coffee and food takeaways, and all along ISTEDGADE which is the old redlight district, which has been gentrified, like all off VESTERBRO and had a seriously socio economic upgrade.
This has naturally led to an increase when it comes to real estate as it is over the last 20 years has become ground zero in cutting edge trendsetting.
But i wouldn't myself live ANYwhere in Copenhagen, as this is la creme de la creme, the most amazing place and the best of what Copenhagen offers, as everywhere is a real neighborhood, instead of a place dominated by office buildings and offices that lay dead come the end of working hours.
So if you are into hipster, young professionals, young families and a lifegiving diversified populated area, immigrant run vegetable shops every 200 meters, stretching from Enghave metro St. along ISTEDGADE to the central stations you have bagel-, shawarma-, chinese-, pizza-, salatbars- and california bowls take away. Often outside tables and chairs.
You'll definitely be able to "people watch", I myself play outdoors ping pong every week at Enghave metro station or SØNDER BOULEVARD.
And what is SØNDER BOULEVARD?
It has the same lively feeling as the places described above. for this it is now the famous SØNDER BOULEVARD, which has its FB page. ;D
Everything from weekly flea markets, art exhibition, street concerts, beautiful parks with workout facilities, shopping, trendy designer shops, take out, lots of vegan, kitchens, and close to the nightlife of Kødbyen- the bar and party scene for everybody over the age of 25.
Vesterbro encompasses some of the very best you can wish for in Copenhagen. Even during this pandemic there are a lot of people everywhere as the sun is coming out, and the light and warmth is back. (most days)
Look forward to hearing from you if this has peaked your interest.
Good luck whatever you seek.
