A room is available in a shared apartment on Italiensvej, part of a friendly co-op on Amager. The apartment is close to grocery shopping (Netto and Rema1000 nearby), bus stops, and within walking distance of both the metro and Amager Strand.
The room faces north-west with a nice view of the local church. It's fairly quiet in the evenings, and noise from neighbours is rare. The room is your private space — I won't enter without an invitation, and I expect the same courtesy regarding my bedroom and office.
The kitchen, bathroom, living room, and balcony are all shared. You're welcome to make full use of these areas, including the kitchen equipment — pots, pans, appliances, all of it. I just ask that you take care of things, and let me know if something breaks so we can replace it.
I'm a fairly private guy, 43, danish, working in IT — mostly from home. I'm not the tidiest person in the world, but I'm not a slob either. I like the apartment kept reasonably clean, especially the kitchen. There's nothing worse to me than a dirty kitchen.
We split cleaning duties and do a proper clean of the apartment twice a month — vacuuming, floors, kitchen, and bathroom as needed. There's a robot vacuum that also washes floors, but the kitchen occasionally needs an extra mop. The shower walls are glass and get dirty fast; using the squeegee after each shower goes a long way and saves us both from having to scrub it every week.
You're welcome to have a friend over anytime. If you'd like to have more than one guest, just give me a heads-up in advance. The same goes for sleeping guests — the occasional overnight stay is fine, but I'd like to know ahead of time if it's more than one person, and it shouldn't be too frequent.
A few of the house rules:
- No smoking anywhere in the apartment, including out the window.
- No pets, even though the co-op itself allows them.
- Noise: Music, washing machine, etc. are fine between 10:00–20:00. After that, keep things quiet.
- Trash: Sorted into the correct bins in the yard (electronics, plastics, metals, paper, cardboard, general waste). Glass goes to the containers near Netto or Rema1000.
- Laundry: There's a shared washer and dryer in the basement, free to use. Weekdays 6:00–22:00, weekends 8:00–22:00. Just book your slot in the calendar in the laundry room (we're number 7). Max 4 hours per booking.
The building is a close-knit co-op — people here look out for each other. As a formality, new residents are introduced to the head of the board. Twice a year in the summer there's a communal maintenance day (painting, cleaning, garden work — about 6–8 hours). You're not required to help, but it's a great way to meet the neighbours if you're up for it.
